Val and I were together off-and-on for a few years between 1978 through 1981 when I left for the military.  I was so immature during those days I know I drove her crazy. We got along really well though. When we were together, time flies by fast. We managed to stay in touch for years after we formally split up during the late 1970s. We come in and out of each others lives. But when  our paths do cross, it’s normally a good time. Today we are very good friends and keep in touch with each other on a regular basis.

This is one of the texts that Val sent me. I also thin k about her often. However, I am not sure how to proceed with our friendship. But somehow we make it work. Val works out of state. But whenever she is in Denver, we try to go “up the hill: to the Monarch casino and I enjoy hanging out with her.

One thing about Val, whenever we do get together, time flies. I absolutely enjoy her company.
